Introduction  

Coronavirus name is derived from the Latin  “Corona” the means is “wreath or crown”. Coronavirus is also known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Coronavirus is a huge family of the virus which spread disease in human and animals. The first human coronavirus reported in 1960. Before the new coronavirus pandemic, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV were reported as an earlier outbreak which caused a lot of psychological and socioeconomic losses. Meanwhile, the first novel coronavirus spread in December 2019 in china(City Wuhan) near the Seafood market. But, the outbreak of the “novel coronavirus” disease after February 11, 2020, was renamed COVID-19. while The World health organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic


History perspective 


In 1980, the first international congress organized in Germany highlighted the importance of the class of coronavirus. The first time, this virus earned the attention of medical and veterinary. In 1933, Baudette and Hudson almost made the first attempt in explaining the “gasping disease” which is a respiratory illness. After 1968, the virus manifested in humans and animals. the international committee on the virus in 1975, called the new family of a virus “Coronavirdae”. It had a “crown” like appearance. In 2002-2003 outbreak in 29 countries in South America and North America was affected by Coronavirus. Almost 774 fatalities were reported.


 


Current circumstances 

Coronavirus affected 159 countries according to a WHO report (April 17th, 2020). Total mortality all over the world is different according to country wise. The highest death rate is found in Mexico with 9.3%.

In critical cases, the mortality rate is 49%. The fatality rate is high in the age group of > 60 according to US epidemiology data and china fatality data.

Conclusion 

Coronavirus is a Pandemic as declared by WHO after the outbreak of this virus in many countries in February 2020. A lot of researchers is being done to find out the medicine for this virus. So, precautions are better than treatment and isolation. Therefore, take care of yourself and the people around you. If you are safe then other people around you will also be safe.
